Drummondville Will Move to the Rhythms of the World This Summer

Government of Canada supports the Mondial des Cultures de Drummondville


DRUMMONDVILLE, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - May 14, 2014) - Department of Canadian Heritage

Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages, today announced $50,000 in funding for the 33rd Mondial des Cultures de Drummondville, which will take place from July 3 to 13, 2014.

This funding is being provided through the Canada Arts Presentation Fund. It will allow people from Drummondville and neighbouring communities to take part in a wide range of performances and activities. About 20 folk ensembles from all parts of the world will be performing at the Mondial.

  • The 33rd Mondial des Cultures will stage around 450 shows and events featuring more than 300 artists from Canada and abroad.
  • Young audience members can see dance performances, circus acts and puppet shows, and take part in awareness activities.
  • The 2014 Mondial des Cultures will also allow the public to discover Aboriginal artists and attend workshops on Aboriginal dances, songs, stories, and legends.
