The Ontario SPCA Working Together to Address Concerns for Animals Being Left Unattended in Vehicles

NEWMARKET, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - May 14, 2014) - The Ontario SPCA and Humane Society has been working diligently with Community Partners to address safety concerns for animals being left unattended in vehicles.

Unfortunately, each year the Ontario SPCA and Humane Society, as well as municipal and provincial police services across Ontario, repeatedly respond to calls for animals that are left in vehicles.

There is no good excuse for leaving an animal unattended in a vehicle.

As a registered charity, the Ontario SPCA and Humane Society has a limited number of officers on the road and response is limited to availability based on the volume of calls.

As the weather becomes warmer, the increase in call volume will also be felt by local police. This can easily be reduced by heeding the advice to leave your pets at home.
