Zuppler and LevelUp Partner to Launch Restaurant Mobile Apps Changing the Way Customers Order and Pay

BOSTON, MA--(Marketwired - May 14, 2014) - In an effort to bridge the gap between online ordering and mobile payments, Conshohocken, PA-based Zuppler and Boston's LevelUp -- two innovative, rapidly expanding mobile-based technology companies -- have teamed up to provide improved accessibility and convenience to the modern consumer with a host of next generation mobile apps for restaurants.

Zuppler & LevelUp service more than 18,000 restaurants and over 2 million customers combined. Zuppler creates a seamless online ordering experience for restaurants, while LevelUp enables mobile payments through low-cost payment processing and highly trackable marketing campaigns. Mobile payments combined with online ordering will enable customers to order and pay from anywhere, while restaurant owners can track everything in between. Restaurants can also reward their customers with rich, targeted loyalty programs regardless of whether they order in-store, in-app or online.

"Until now, restaurants would typically choose between an app featuring mobile payments or online ordering, but not both," said Shiva Srinivasan, founder and CEO of Zuppler. "While each service worked well separately, restaurants were missing a key opportunity to capture every customer's order, regardless of whether it was in-store or online. Thanks to our partnership with LevelUp, we're helping businesses increase customer spend by using the data we're able to provide."

E-Commerce businesses like Amazon.com have long benefited from collecting actionable data with every customer purchase. Until now, traditional brick-and-mortar businesses like restaurants have been without a means for enabling remote ordering or targeting customer offers by purchase history, but the Zuppler/LevelUp partnership will allow restaurants to arm themselves with the tools once reserved only for internet companies.

"This partnership provides restaurants with a true 'commerce everywhere' solution," said Seth Priebatsch, CEO of LevelUp. "Customers can pay in-store, in-app or online and accrue/redeem rewards regardless of how they choose to pay. Combining mobile payment and in-app ordering into a single mobile experience creates a compelling value proposition to customers and sustainable advantage against competitors."

Boloco and Protein Bar, two fast casual restaurants with locations across the country, have already launched apps featuring mobile payments and online ordering from the LevelUp/Zuppler partnership.

"At Protein Bar, we are excited to have two of our best partners working together," said Matt Matros, founder of Protein Bar. "Zuppler and LevelUp have allowed us to change the way we engage with our customers and we couldn't be more thrilled that they are joining forces to create even more amazing technologies that make our customers' lives better."

"What's important for us at Boloco is the opportunity to provide our guests options," explained Alexandra Dunk, marketing manager at Boloco. "With our new passport loyalty program, our guests have the opportunity to pay and earn or redeem rewards in one step, regardless of whether they are ordering in-app, ordering online, or ordering in our restaurants. This is a big change, and we hope it's ultimately a big improvement for our guests."
