Virtual Instruments Introduces VI University

VI University Provides Customers and Partners Simplified Access to Training, Accreditation and Certification Programs

SAN JOSE, CA--(Marketwired - May 15, 2014) - Virtual Instruments, the leader in Infrastructure Performance Management (IPM) for physical, virtual and cloud computing environments, today introduced VI University, a learning environment that provides customers and partners access to professional development resources to increase their knowledge about Virtual Instruments' products and services. As part of the university, Virtual Instruments also launched a new certification program, the Virtual Instruments Certified Professional (VICP), that validates the skills and knowledge of individuals on the new VirtualWisdom4 platform.

Through the university, individuals have access to a range of training classes including, in-person training at a Virtual Instruments classroom, live instructor-led training from an online classroom, and on-demand, self-paced eLearning options. Organizations also can customize a class for onsite training at their facility or as a live online class dedicated to their company. The university also enables individuals to view the upcoming training schedule, manage their class registrations and track their certifications.

"With the launch of VI University, our goal was to simplify the procurement of training by implementing a university platform that supports prepaid training options to maximize an organizations' investment in Virtual Instruments and provide the best educational value for their dollar," said Bo Barker, Vice President of Services at Virtual Instruments. "By creating a single access point for all of our educational services online, users are empowered to create a training experience customized to their learning style through our various educational methods."

The new Virtual Instruments Certified Professional (VICP) certification has two tracks for individuals. The VICP VirtualWisdom Administrator certification focuses on general product administration and provides core competency in utilizing the VirtualWisdom platform. The VICP Analysis Engineer certification focuses on advanced infrastructure analysis using the VirtualWisdom platform data to optimize the health, performance, and utilization of the infrastructure.

VI University also provides access to accreditation programs via no-cost eLearning classes that provide technical and sales training that augment the certification program. Accreditation classes cover a number of topics including a technical introduction to VirtualWisdom4, how to use VirtualWisdom to perform data analysis and how to conduct diagnostic processes with VirtualWisdom. Partners can also learn how to effectively market the Virtual Instruments solution to customers and technically align Virtual Instruments products to customers business needs.

Virtual Instruments introduced training units, a prepaid Virtual Instruments training currency, to make the process of purchasing courses easier. Organizations can purchase training units, which are then deposited in the company's training account in VI University. Training units enable organizations to immediately leverage their CapEx budget, minimize their future OpEx budget and maximize their investment in Virtual Instruments by developing staff proficiency on the VirtualWisdom platform.

More information on VI University is online at http://www.virtualinstruments.com/training/#training-resources and classes are available in the U.S., EMEA and APAC. Certification classes for the VICP begin in July and individuals can register for them now in VI University.
