Government of Canada Hails Inauguration of Renovated Chalet des loisirs de Sainte-Henedine

SAINTE-HÉNÉDINE, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - May 17, 2014) - Canada Economic Development

Acting on behalf of the Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Infrastructure, Communities and Intergovernmental Affairs and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, the Honourable Maxime Bernier, Minister of State (Small Business and Tourism, and Agriculture), took part in today's official inauguration of the newly-renovated Chalet des loisirs de Sainte-Hénédine.

It will be recalled that the Government of Canada granted assistance for this project in the form of a $107,100 non-repayable financial contribution through Canada Economic Development's Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund.

Quick facts

  • This funding served to renovate the Sainte-Hénédine recreation chalet, thereby allowing the relaunch of municipal recreational activites and the re-hiring of two seasonal employees to oversee user safety and the smooth running of these activities.
  • The population of Sainte-Hénédine is now able to enjoy access to a modern, accessible and safe community facility that is better suited to its needs.

Quote

"By supporting this Chalet des loisirs de Sainte-Hénédine renovation project, the Government of Canada is fulfilling its commitment to help improve the quality of life in our communities. I want to congratulate everyone who took part, directly or indirectly, in making this rallying project a reality."

Maxime Bernier, Minister of State (Small Business and Tourism, and Agriculture)
