PALO ALTO, CA--(Marketwired - May 20, 2014) - Accellion, Inc., the pioneer in providing secure enterprise solutions that improve mobile productivity, today announced new user-friendly, integrated digital rights management (DRM) features for its kiteworks solution, including the ability to control the viewing, copying and altering of shared documents. Corporations and government agencies are increasingly concerned about enterprise data leakage and the new kiteworks features provide additional security control over the sharing of sensitive and confidential information in an easy to use mobile-first design.

The new features include the ability to share a file in a View Only mode with document watermarking and full-content search. Recipients of the file cannot download, forward, or copy and paste any part of the file. In addition, kiteworks now also includes the ability to withdraw files, an extremely useful feature when a sender makes a mistake, either by sending a file to the wrong recipient or sending the wrong file.

The new DRM features in kiteworks that add significant security enhancements are:

• View Only Role: Organizations want to ensure the security of sensitive information by preventing users from downloading or forwarding critical documents. With the view only role, files can be viewed with high fidelity on a mobile device or web browser but not downloaded or forwarded, thus enabling IT to maintain full control and visibility. Two additional security features further protect data leakage:
  • Watermarking: File security is enhanced by ensuring that recipients only receive an image of the file, with a custom watermark rather than an editable document. Watermarking strengthens the security of the View Only role, by ensuring that viewers cannot capture images and use them elsewhere.
  • Full Content Search: Within the online viewer on a mobile or web interface, users can search for and highlight key words or phrases.
• Withdraw Files: Users now have the ability to withdraw files in the event they've sent the wrong content, or sent content to the wrong recipient. This capability is available for both mobile and web users, and adds another layer of security to protect document. Additionally, from within the Activity Stream users can resend files they've sent to a recipient or forward files to additional collaborators.
