NASDAQ OMX Lists PowerShares Multi-Strategy Alternative Portfolio ETF

Multi-Strategy ETF Began Trading on May 29, 2014

NEW YORK, May 30, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- NASDAQ OMX today announced that PowerShares launched a new exchange traded fund (ETF), PowerShares Multi-Strategy Alternative Portfolio ETF (Symbol:LALT), which is listed on The NASDAQ Stock Market® (NASDAQ®). LALT began trading on NASDAQ on Thursday, May 29, 2014.

"One of the primary goals for investors that use alternative strategies is to minimize exposure to equity and bond markets, and to achieve better risk-adjusted returns compared to portfolios consisting only of traditional asset classes," said Dan Draper, Invesco PowerShares Managing Director of Global ETFs. "LALT is designed to help investors reach their portfolio objectives by reducing the volatility of returns and mitigating the risk of drawdowns. Invesco PowerShares is committed to providing innovative tools to help investors achieve their goals of wealth accumulation and capital preservation."

The PowerShares Multi-Strategy Alternative Portfolio (LALT) employs a long-short strategy that seeks to provide a positive total return with low correlation to the broader securities markets through a cost efficient vehicle. 1Invesco Advisers, Inc., the sub-adviser to the Fund, selects investments for inclusion in the Fund's portfolio with reference to the components of the Morgan Stanley Multi-Strategy Alternative Index (the "Benchmark") using a quantitative process that seeks to exceed the Benchmark's performance, and delivers the strategy through a transparent and liquid vehicle.

"We are pleased to launch LALT in conjunction with our partners at PowerShares and we appreciate their confidence in choosing the NASDAQ marketplace for ETFs," said Dave LaValle, Head of Exchange Traded Product Listings at NASDAQ OMX. "We are committed to increasing the value of our partnership by continuing to fuel innovation in the listing and trading of Exchange Traded Products and acting as thought leaders and pioneers in the industry."

NASDAQ OMX operates an efficient platform for successfully introducing a product suite into one of the single largest pools of liquidity, including market participants which represent a full spectrum of investors. ETF issuers benefit from an end-to-end solution that provides ongoing product support at every level including index licensing, listings opportunities, data offerings and trading services. As a home to the world's most innovative ventures, NASDAQ OMX generates opportunities for issuers to access new markets and deliver new concepts that change the way the industry develops, manages and applies ETFs.
