BERKELEY, Calif., June 5, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- via PRWEB - San Francisco Bay Area graphic design firm Project6 Design is proud to announce that they have won two new honors from the 20th Annual Communicator Awards in the Charitable Organizations/Non-profit and Food & Beverage website categories. The new website created for the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation was presented with a Silver Communicator Award of Distinction. Additionally, Project6 won another Silver Communicator Award of Distinction for their web design and development work with Lotus Bakeries, purveyor of Biscoff cookies.

The Communicator Awards honor work that transcends innovation and craft--work that made a lasting impact, providing an equal chance of winning to all entrants regardless of company or agency size and project budget. These honors recognize big ideas in marketing and communications.

One of the largest foundations in the U.S., the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation tackles some of the biggest challenges in environmental conservation, patient care and science around the world and at home in the San Francisco Bay Area. Project6 Design conducted discovery sessions with key stakeholders to understand in detail the foundation's work and target audiences, and then designed and developed a bold, fresh experience for the site that expressed the true personality of the Moore Foundation brand. The website was built on the Sitefinity content management system, allowing the Moore Foundation to have full control over the content and enabling them to link to their internal grants database. The development also utilizes the most up-to-date coding methods including HTML5 and CSS3.

Biscoff cookies, made by Lotus Bakeries, have been popular in Europe using the same high-quality recipe since 1932--and now Americans are beginning to discover this delicious, crunchy treat. The robust architecture of the new website enables visitors to explore product offerings, link to product purchases more intuitively, and search and filter rich content like recipes and party ideas. Sumptuous photography conveys the Biscoff story, and supporting feature areas make it easy for Biscoff to highlight their product and seasonal interests as needed. The website was designed and built using the latest award-winning Responsive Web Design and Development methodologies--so images are scaled and navigation is intuitive on all devices. The site was built using the Drupal content management system, an open source content management platform with core principles that encourage modularity, standards, collaboration ease of use, and more.

"We're truly honored to be recognized for our work with the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation and Biscoff," said Esten Sesto, Founder and President of Project6 Design. "Both projects presented unique challenges for both our design and development teams. A big part of what we love about working a variety of clients is that we get to come up with customized solutions that solve problems. Creating smart, elegant and clean ways for people to interact with a brand and building websites that make sense from a visual and user experience is always top of mind for us. Being part of these award-winning projects is always gratifying, as it demonstrates that these goals resonate with a larger community."
