Alex Benay appointed Director and Chief Executive Officer

The Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages, today announced the appointment of Alex Benay as Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Canada Science and Technology Museums Corporation for a term of five years, effective July 2, 2014.

  • Mr. Benay has been Vice-President of Government Affairs and Business Development with Open Text, an enterprise software company, since 2011. He first joined Open Text in 2008 as Senior Director of the Canadian Public Sector, after which he became Executive Director of Industry Marketing in 2010.
  • Previously, Mr. Benay worked for five years at the Canadian International Development Agency.
  • Mr. Benay holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Ottawa.
  • The Canada Science and Technology Museums Corporation is responsible for preserving and protecting Canada's scientific and technological heritage and for promoting and sharing knowledge about that heritage. The Corporation includes the Canada Science and Technology Museum, the Canada Aviation and Space Museum, and the Canada Agriculture and Food Museum.
