"We consistently receive feedback that people would like to know more about Port Metro Vancouver. PortTV is our exciting new initiative that allows us to get out into the community and have some fun talking to people about what we do and the day-to-day impact of the port," says Evangeline Englezos, Director, Community & Aboriginal Affairs, Port Metro Vancouver. "PortTV will take audiences inside the diverse world of Port Metro Vancouver, introduce them to some of the people who work within our community, and have some fun with people across the Lower Mainland as we challenge them to see the port in a new way."

Currently airing two different series, People of the Port and Port Pop Quiz, PortTV will release new episodes each Tuesday from June until September.

People of the Port

People of the Port takes audiences behind-the-scenes of the fascinating roles of individuals who work within Port Metro Vancouver's community. Host Denise Jones will experience what a day-in-the-life is like for people whose jobs are directly or indirectly related to the port. From surveying bird populations in Boundary Bay and loading the biggest supply of wood pulp to be exported in B.C.'s history to learning about the rehabilitation of injured marine mammals and helping out the port's Harbour Patrol Crew, Denise gives viewers a firsthand look at the interesting work being done by the many People of the Port.

Port Pop Quiz

Port Pop Quiz follows host David Milchard as he ventures in to six port communities to quiz peoples' knowledge of Port Metro Vancouver in a roving game-show style. Testing their knowledge on all things related to the port and port city living, David charmingly challenges the shy, the bold, the young and the old with fun trivia questions, physical challenges, and at times even song-writing. Travelling far and wide across Metro Vancouver, David visits Vancouver, Delta, Richmond, New Westminster, Surrey and North Vancouver in search of those brave enough to play.

Allowing viewers the chance to get in on the action and play Port Pop Quiz themselves, an online contest will kick off on Wednesday, June 18. For four weeks, trivia questions will be released every Wednesday on Port Metro Vancouver's Facebook page giving the public the opportunity to win weekly prizes.
