What's the Most Expensive Resort in the U.S.? A Look at America's Highest Priced Beds

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwired - Jul 2, 2014) -  If you buy into the L'Oreal mindset, then a stay at one of America's top priced resorts may be worth it. But where are these resorts and what do they have that makes them special? A quick look at the Ranch at Rock Creek in Philipsburg, Montana may provide some answers.

The ultimate list, provided by Luxury-Hotels.com, reveals the top price vacationers are paying in this country to rent their own slice of paradise -- and that price starts at $2,385 per person, per night.

The high cost of luxury these days is only one of the topics presented in the latest issue of Tours.com's Travel-Intel, a travel digest that goes out to the travel industry each week.

Other stories in the current lineup look at the short list for best hotels, best spas, best travel experiences and best dining experiences worldwide in what has become the Oscars for destinations and travel products as distilled from more than 1,000 selections by members of Virtuoso, a luxury travel network.

On the list? The Kahaha in Honolulu and the Dolder Grand in Zurich. But let's not forget the Underwater Sculpture Garden at Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi.

Travel-Intel also gets some tips from recent surveys through U.S. News & World Report, which has compiled its annual best of the best for 2014. In this case it was best vacation spots and not surprisingly, Paris tops the list.

As wedding season gets underway, best beaches come into focus -- most notably best beach resorts for weddings and resort buyouts to accommodate all the guests. Best bets? Villa Manzu in Costa Rica and Musha Cay in the Bahamas. Gansevoort Turks + Caicos gets a mention for its accommodation within a larger resort. The properties in view are all about privacy, experienced service where weddings are concerned, and a huge splash of "wow!" These resorts are part of the Kurtz-Ahlers exclusive line of travel products.

In other news Travel-Intel looks at the first-ever non-stop air service between New England and Beijing. A Boston-Beijing flight that launched last month by Hainin Airlines offers 787 Dreamliner service and cuts out flight time, stopovers and inconvenient connections. All arrivals and departures happen between 1:50 pm and 6:50 pm with complimentary luxury car service for premium passengers.

Finally, Travel-Intel goes to Las Vegas and leaves the Las Vegas Strip for points west. The Red Rock Resort on the city's west side near the Red Rock Canyon desert preserve has its own lineup of hip action and cool pool scenes and is expanding its offerings into a menu name brand dining and a new upscale shopping mall.

Travel-Intel, the weekly travel industry news channel from Tours.com, reaches more than 130,000 sellers of travel in the U.S. and Canada and is also posted online. It also partners with eGroup Communications to offer strategically targeted marketing services.
