Government of Canada Hails Inauguration of Sentiers d'Ixworth Recreational Trails

SAINT-ONÉSIME-D'IXWORTH, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - July 11, 2014) - Canada Economic Development

The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Infrastructure, Communities and Intergovernmental Affairs and Minister of the Economic Development Agency for the Regions of Quebec, welcomes the official opening of the Sentiers d'Ixworth trails in Bas-Saint-Laurent.

Assistance for the project was granted in the form of a $5,121 non-repayable financial contribution through Canada Economic Development's Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund.

Quick facts

  • The funding served to rehabilitate and improve the Sentiers d'Ixworth, a recreational infrastructure accessible to all.
  • Improvements included the reparation of culverts and the pedestrian bridge access ramp, landfill, drainage and bypass operations, and the installation of signs.
  • Thanks to this project, the Sentiers d'Ixworth trails are safer for walking, hiking and ski touring.
