Spotlight on Talented Street Performers Thanks to Federal Funding

Member of Parliament Chris Warkentin announces support for the Grande Prairie International Street Performers Festival Association


GRANDE PRAIRIE, ALBERTA--(Marketwired - July 14, 2014) - Department of Canadian Heritage

The Government of Canada has provided the Grande Prairie International Street Performers Festival Association with $13,000 in funding over two years ($6,500 in 2014-2015 and $6,500 in 2015-2016) through the Canada Arts Presentation Fund. This investment will support the 14th and 15th editions of the Grande Prairie International Street Performers Festival.

Chris Warkentin, Member of Parliament (Peace River), announced this support today on behalf of the Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages.

  • This year's Grande Prairie International Street Performers Festival will take place from July 18 to 20 and will include up to 20 artists and acts featuring dance, music, juggling, comedy, acrobatics, and other street-based artistic disciplines from around the world.
