KAMOURASKA, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Aug. 16, 2014) - Department of Canadian Heritage

The Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages, today announced $59,040 in support for Têtes d'affiche (Headliners), a travelling exhibition of the Musée régional de Kamouraska. This funding, provided through the Museums Assistance Program, is being used to support the production, presentation and circulation of this unprecedented exhibition, which focuses on women's history in Canada at the turn of the 20th century from a new perspective-that of women's hats.

Quick Facts

  • Têtes d'affiche is being shown at the Musée régional de Kamouraska from May 17 to September 1, 2014. It will then circulate throughout Canada, including a stint at Ottawa's Vanier Museopark.
  • The 600-m2 travelling exhibition features around 60 hats and a mosaic of prominent women who have left their mark on Canada's history.
  • The project has also developed an educational program for the travelling exhibition.
