MATLOCK, MANITOBA--(Marketwired - Aug. 18, 2014) - The Government of Canada is providing $6,300 to the 2014 Matlock Festival of Music, Art and Nature. This funding is provided through the Building Communities Through Arts and Heritage program, which provides Canadians with more opportunities to take part in activities that present local arts and culture and celebrate local history and heritage.

The funding was announced today by James Bezan, Member of Parliament (Selkirk-Interlake), on behalf of the Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages.

• The 5^th edition of the Matlock Festival of Music, Art and Nature will take place from August 22 to 24, 2014, on a 45-acre site that includes forest, grassland, and wetland habitats.

• The festival's mission is to connect people and build community through art, music, dance, and nature while modelling sustainable and environmentally responsible practices.
