Announced Retirement of Edward (Ed) Makin, President & CEO of Lantic Inc.

VANCOUVER, CANADA--(Marketwired - Aug. 18, 2014) - Stuart Belkin, Chairman of Rogers Sugar Inc. (the "Corporation") (TSX:RSI) on behalf of the Corporation's Board of Directors wishes to announce that Mr. Ed Makin, President & CEO of Lantic Inc. ("Lantic"), a subsidiary of the Corporation, has advised the Board of his plan to retire on or about March 31, 2015.

Ed has done a wonderful job leading the Corporation since his appointment in 2005 and the Board wishes to acknowledge his significant contribution to the success of the Company. The Corporation has reached a number of important milestones under Ed's guidance in the areas of sales and marketing, trade advocacy and cost containment and the stakeholders of Rogers Sugar Inc. and its wholly owned subsidiary Lantic have been well served by his commendable efforts. In fact during Ed's tenure the Corporation has enjoyed its single most profitable year in a long history.

In accordance with its succession planning program, the Board of Directors has initiated a replacement process and is actively engaged in the mandate of identifying a candidate to continue the outstanding work accomplished by Ed.

The Board of Directors appreciates that Ed has offered to remain available after his retirement, on an as required basis, to assist in the transitional process and other special matters.
