One of the Oldest Municipalities in Estrie Proudly Marks its 150th Anniversary

SAINT-ROMAIN, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Aug. 20, 2014) - Canadian Heritage

The Honourable Christian Paradis, Minister of International Development, Minister for La Francophonie and Member of Parliament (Mégantic-L'Érable), today announced $22,100 in funding for the Comité des Fêtes du 150^e de Saint-Romain (Saint-Romain 150^th Anniversary Celebration Committee). Minister Paradis made this announcement on behalf of the Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages. This funding is provided under the Community Anniversaries component of the Building Communities Through Arts and Heritage program.

The event, spread out over nine days between January 1 and October 31, 2015, will celebrate the 150^th anniversary of the parish of Saint-Romain, located in the regional county municipality of Granit.

• The 150^th anniversary of this municipality, a community of nearly 800 residents, will feature the work of more than 50 artists, artisans and performers offering live music, demonstrations and guided tours.
