KEMP ADC Software Extended to VMware Cloud, Ops, Logs, Apps

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwired - Aug 25, 2014) - VMworld® -- KEMP Technologies announced several new ADC software solutions that offer enhanced performance and operations management within VMware's cloud platform. These initiatives include: hybrid cloud integration; a virtual infrastructure operations console; a log analytics tool; and performance optimization for enterprise applications such as Horizon View and the virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) market. Further, KEMP Virtual LoadMaster (VLM) and KEMP Virtual LoadMaster (VLM) for VMware vCloud Air are now VMware Ready.

"It has been a pleasure working with KEMP as a networking technology partner," said Wayne Greene, senior director, VMware Cloud Management Business Unit. "KEMP has openly embraced virtual networking, cloud, and integrated operations management. The KEMP management pack for VMware vCenter Operations offers visibility into the network regarding the health and performance of virtual machines. This is very exciting for our customers."

VMware Ready products and solutions are validated to interoperate seamlessly with a virtual infrastructure, meeting specific VMware integration and interoperability standards.

"KEMP has always had a natural affinity with the vSphere user community, based on its software oriented ADC product approach, as well as products that are simple to configure, scalable, and compatible with the mobility benefits of virtual machines," said Atchison Frazer, CMO, KEMP. "Additionally, we ensure that the virtualized application instances that VMware environments are designed to support are performing optimally, not just in the context of being a VM, but for the specific application those VMs are serving."

In conjunction with its sponsorship of VMworld 2014, KEMP announced the following solutions integration and application optimization product extensions:

Virtual LoadMaster extension for VMware vCloud® Air™:
KEMP Technologies has extended the availability of Virtual LoadMaster (VLM) to vCloud Air. VLM for VMware vCloud Air brings the same comprehensive application delivery and global traffic distribution (GSLB) capabilities that thousands of customers benefit from in private cloud infrastructure. VLM enables customers to easily scale applications deployed in vCloud Air and enhance performance with capabilities such as content switching, SSL offload, edge security services, server name indicator and multi-protocol application persistence. Additionally, the VLM's GSLB capabilities allow for intelligent flow steering of client traffic to the best location on a request-by-request basis, ensuring the optimal end-user experience and simplifying steps required for disaster recovery.

KEMP Plug-In for VMware vCenter Operations:
KEMP has developed a plug-in for vCenter Operations Manager which provides operational visibility into a customer's infrastructure to see the health of compute, storage and other elements such as load balancers. The plug-in allows customers to view a dashboard of key metrics around their KEMP application delivery infrastructure, providing VI admins with enhanced health and risk visibility VMs, enabling predictive action to be taken on the VMs being load balanced as well as the load balancers themselves based on ingested data points.

Optimized Syslog Traffic Handling:
KEMP has expanded its core ADC product capabilities to provide optimized support for syslog message traffic re-distribution across scale out syslog collection architectures. Specific to VMware, this new ADC product capability balances VMware Log Insight traffic dynamically, across multiple Log Insight collection nodes, without having to reboot the collection nodes, when there are no failures, or when new collection nodes are added. This scenario requires a load balancer to serve as a central aggregation point for incoming syslog messages. However, without awareness of the makeup of the message structure, messages will often not be distributed evenly across nodes in a cluster. KEMP's new syslog handling capabilities address this challenge.

KEMP Optimization for VMware Horizon View
KEMP Technologies is announcing official support for multi-protocol application persistence for VMware Horizon View. This allows for both HTTP and PCoIP flows to be load balanced across a Virtual LoadMaster while ensuring that all communication is directed to the same application server endpoint that is associated with the same session. This greatly simplifies administrative setup by removing the requirement to bypass the load balancer for PCoIP.

KEMP is a VMware Elite Technology Alliance Partner and will be showcasing these VMware offerings at booth #2446 during VMworld 2014 from August 24-28, 2014, and VMworld Europe, Barcelona, October 14-16, 2014.
