But when he abandons his family for a new life, Medea faces banishment and separation from her children. Cornered, she begs for one day's grace.

A Streetcar Named Desire (September 16 and 21, 2014)

The fastest-selling production in the Young Vic's history, Tennessee Williams' timeless masterpiece A Streetcar Named Desire, stars Gillian Anderson, Ben Foster and Vanessa Kirby. As Blanche's fragile world crumbles, she turns to her sister Stella for solace - but her downward spiral brings her face to face with the brutal, unforgiving Stanley Kowalski.

Frankenstein (October 15 and 22, 2014)

Back by popular demand, Oscar® winner Danny Boyle (127 Hours and Slumdog Millionaire) directs this visionary production of Frankenstein by Nick Dear, based on the novel by Mary Shelley. Throughout the run of Frankenstein at the National Theatre, Benedict Cumberbatch and Jonny Lee Miller alternated the roles of Victor Frankenstein and the Creature. For the October 15 performance, Benedict Cumberbatch will play the Creature and Jonny Lee Miller will play Dr. Frankenstein. For the October 22 performance, their roles will be reversed.

Skylight (October 23 and 25, 2014)

Bill Nighy and Carey Mulligan feature in the highly anticipated West End production of David Hare's Skylight, directed by Stephen Daldry, broadcast live from London's West End by National Theatre Live. On a bitterly cold London evening, schoolteacher Kyra Hollis (Carey Mulligan) receives an unexpected visit from her former lover, Tom Sergeant (Bill Nighy), a successful and charismatic restaurateur whose wife has recently died. As the evening progresses, the two attempt to rekindle their once passionate relationship only to find themselves locked in a dangerous battle of opposing ideologies and mutual desires.

Of Mice and Men (November 6, 13, 23 and 24, 2014)

The New York Staging of John Steinbeck's classic Of Mice and Men will be the National Theatre's first Broadway production to be screened live. Starring James Franco, Chris O'Dowd and Leighton Meester, Of Mice and Men is set in California during the Great Depression, and follows two migrant workers George (Franco), a sharp but uneducated, short-tempered man, and Lennie (O'Dowd), a large but simple-minded man. Together they hope to one day acquire their own piece of land. But when Lennie stirs up trouble on the job, George must choose between protecting his friend or staying the course towards his version of the American dream. Tickets for this performance go on sale September 12.

JOHN (December 10, 2014 and January 24, 2015)

For this powerful new production, DV8 Physical Theatre Artistic Director Lloyd Newson began by conducting frank interviews with more than 50 men about love and sex. One of his interviewees was John. Now John's story has been transformed into an intense theatrical experience that charts his years of crime, drug use and living on the margins of society. DV8 Physical Theatre has produced 18 highly acclaimed dance-theatre works and four films for television, which have garnered over 50 national and international awards.
