A number of St. Henri businesses lent their support to a celebratory event in their backyard on Monday, August 25, 2014. Welcome Hall Mission hosted a BBQ for fifty participants in its rehabilitation and reinsertion programs and neighbourhood businesses stepped up to make the event memorable for the men. "When we first started talking about establishing a rehab program at the corner of De Courcelle and Acorn streets, some of our neighbours were concerned about living in proximity to men in transition", says CEO and Executive Director Cyril Morgan. "Now, many of them participate in our special events and lend their time as volunteers. The men in these programs are doing the hard work to get their lives back on track, and people appreciate that."

Urban Bonfire was the first to get involved. "Our mission as a retailer of barbeques and accessories is to help people and companies bring outdoor spaces to life and we are committed to making a difference in our city. As we got to know more about the life-changing programs at Welcome Hall Mission, we immediately wanted to get involved. A BBQ is the perfect fit – we were grilling burgers yesterday and look forward to other opportunities to help out."

Léché Desserts, Play it Again Sports and soon-to-be opened Joys of Living juice bar round out the partners that contributed to a memorable evening.

When it comes to fighting homelessness, what sets Welcome Hall Mission apart is its offering of numerous services, personalized solutions and the opportunity for men and women to enter or exit programs according to their needs. The Mission is committed to long-term solutions and permanent reinsertion for all who come through its doors.

Welcome Hall Mission helps Montreal's most disadvantaged through its multiple services which provide constant, effective assistance to tens of thousands of men, women, children and teenagers. Across all programs, the common denominator is its commitment to supporting and giving hope to the most disadvantaged through concrete actions and effective solutions to build a better life and reintegrate into society.
