Teq Partners With New Jersey City University to Provide CEU Credits for Its K-12 Online Professional Development Offering

JERSEY CITY, NJ and HUNTINGTON, NY--(Marketwired - Aug 27, 2014) - Teq, the educational technology and professional development company, today announced a partnership with New Jersey City University (NJCU) to provide continuing education units (CEU) for Teq Online Professional Development (PD) classes. Teq Online PD courses are broadcast live and in person via the web, providing a format that allows teachers to interact with the instructor, then review the recorded video at their own pace.

"We are excited that our courses and content have met NJCU's rigorous standards for CEU credits," said Chris Hickey, President of Teq. "Our online PD offerings are already helping teachers increase their effectiveness, and maximize technology integration into the classroom. Now teachers can earn the credit they deserve in the form of CEUs."

Teq is offering more than 50 online PD courses, on a rotating basis, including "Math and Your Interactive Whiteboard," "Early Childhood Literacy," "SMART Board Certification," "Google Apps," and "Learning with the iPad." These online offerings are perfect for teachers who may not be able to attend full- or multi-day sessions, enabling them to meet their professional development needs, while collaborating in an online learning community and receiving CEUs.

According to Dr. Laura Zieger, Professor and Chairperson of the Department of Educational Technology at NJCU, "We selected Teq as a partner because of its high quality of classes, and believe that the model of online classes with live teachers is a great way to help teachers continue their professional development, and an ideal way to acquire new technology skills -- that will benefit the classroom in America. By working with Teq Online PD, we are able to support professional development to a broad base of teachers, extending NJCU's online Educational Technology programs to teachers nationwide."

"NJCU's collaboration with Teq simply positions both of us to better serve educators, the wonderful teachers throughout this nation, by providing them with the most cutting edge teaching/learning tools and techniques," said Dr. William J. Bajor, Division of Academic Initiatives and Services at NJCU. "We are enabling educators to stay a step ahead of the latest trends in the education field."

Teq Online PD provides district and school administrators with an affordable way to provide live and on-demand professional development for each teacher. For more information, visit www.teq.com or call 877-455-9369.
