Tim McMillan to Become President of CAPP

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwired - Sept. 18, 2014) - Glenn Scott, Chair of the Board of Governors of the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (CAPP), announced today that Tim McMillan will become president of CAPP effective October 1, 2014. McMillan is currently minister of rural health in the government of Saskatchewan. He was previously minister of energy and resources and has a strong connection to the energy industry over many years, including ownership of an oilfield services company.

Dave Collyer will continue as CEO of CAPP for a transition period until his planned retirement at year-end, after which McMillan will become president and CEO of the organization.

"Tim McMillan brings extensive knowledge and experience in both the oil and gas industry and government," Scott said. "He is well-positioned to lead CAPP's activities in the policy and regulatory area, and in communications, both of which are extremely important to the continued success of our industry. We are very pleased he has decided to join CAPP."

"CAPP is a well-respected and very effective voice for the Canadian oil and gas industry," McMillan said. "I am positive and excited about joining CAPP in this leadership role at an important time for the oil and gas sector. I look forward to the opportunity to contribute directly to the success of an industry which is of importance to all Canadians."

"The CAPP selection committee considered a broad range of candidates as it conducted this search, reflecting the scope and importance of the role," Scott said. "We are confident that Tim McMillan has the skills, experience and energy necessary to lead CAPP, particularly as we engage more broadly across Canada."

The Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (CAPP) represents companies, large and small, that explore for, develop and produce natural gas and crude oil throughout Canada. CAPP's member companies produce about 90 per cent of Canada's natural gas and crude oil. CAPP's associate members provide a wide range of services that support the upstream crude oil and natural gas industry. Together CAPP's members and associate members are an important part of a national industry with revenues of about $110 billion a year. CAPP's vision is to enhance Canada's prosperity by enabling responsible growth of Canada's upstream oil and gas industry.
