Puma Exploration: Cullinan Silver/Gold/Zinc Zone at Nicholas-Denys Now Extended to 600 Meters Strike Length

RIMOUSKI, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Sept. 18, 2014) - Puma Exploration (TSX VENTURE:PUM) reports that stripping and trench sampling operations on geophysical targets have resulted in the discovery of new silver-gold showings that indicate a northerly extension of the NW-SE trending Cullinan zone located between the Main Fault and the Rocky Brook Millstream fault where known important mineralised zones have been identified (see news release of Sept 20, 2011).

Initial results from the current sampling program have returned values up to 263 g/t silver, 1.8 g/t gold, 0.9% zinc and 1.0 % antimony. The new areas are currently defined as being 25 meters wide and consist of deformed and parallel vein systems that vary from 10 cm to 50 cm in thickness. The Cullinan silver/gold/zinc zone has now been confirmed to be at least 600 meters long. The enclosing calcareous siltsone host rocks have been mineralized and display prominent alteration. The mineralization style in the new areas is consistent with the nearby Henry, Shaft and Pinetree mineralized zones of the Rocky Brook corridor.

The current stripping and trenching program (Phase III) was initiated in June and so far includes 33 trenches with 129 t samples analyzed. The trenching program was done over an area of 2km by 1km at the western end of the 15 km long Rocky Brook Corridor near the Henry zone. The targets were identified through geological interpretation with the support of geophysical anomalies.

Prior drilling (North American Rare Metal in 1968) into the Cullinan zone returned significant precious metal results. Drill hole 668-16 intercepted 214 g/t Ag and 7.3% Pb+Zn over 11 metres and drill hole 688-18 142 g/t Ag and 4.4% Pb+Zn over 3.3 m. Additionally, one of the Cullinan surface veins returned a grab sample value of 3,470 g/t Ag and 30.0% Pb. (Press Release Sept 20, 2011).

Marcel Robillard, President of Puma Exploration, stated: "The recent results from the Cullinan program completes the surface sample database that will allow us to more effectively explore a particularly well mineralized 4km by 2km segment of the Rocky Brook Corridor located in the western portion of the structure. The 15km long by 2km wide Rocky Brook Corridor is a major mineralized structure which contains the 1km long Shaft lead-zinc-silver zone, the 1km long Henry lead-zinc-silver zone, the 1km long Beresford copper-iron zone, the 1km long Dante lead-zinc-silver zone and the 0.5 km long Millstream copper-iron zone. The Cullinan zone has to date been defined over a strike length of 600 metres and is located in the Henry zone between the 2 majors Rocky-Brook-Millstream and Main faults.

Following the recent completion of trenching and stripping operations at Nicholas-Denys, the exploration team has started a trenching and stripping program on the nearby Turgeon VMS Project to follow up on new targets in preparation for a scheduled drilling program in the fall.

About Nicholas-Denys

Nicholas-Denys is located in mining friendly New Brunswick, near sea level in the established Bathurst mining camp which welcomes employment opportunities. The property is located 15 kms from the city of Bathurst and 20 kms from a deep-water Atlantic port and the nearby Glencore Xstrata smelter at Belledune. Access is excellent with a commercial airport near Bathurst, a nearby railroad and with paved roads running through the property. The project consists of two genetically and spatially related plays: the large 4 km diameter Nicholas Denys porphyry intrusion, and the adjacent 15 km long by 1.5 km wide Rocky Brook mineralized corridor.
