TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Sept. 19, 2014) - Canadian Heritage
The Honourable Bal Gosal, Minister of State (Sport), today announced $40,000 in funding to the Canadian Soccer Association (Canada Soccer). This funding, provided through Sport Canada's Hosting Program, supports the America Cup 2014 (Para Soccer) which is being held in Toronto from September 19 to 26.

- The America Cup 2014 (Para Soccer) is a qualification event for the Toronto 2015 Parapan American Games. The event will determine which six teams compete in para soccer next summer in Toronto.
- Sport Canada's Sport Support Program is providing up to $ 2,830,900 to the Canada Soccer during the 2014-2015 fiscal year.
- Sport Canada's Athlete Assistance Program provided nearly $1,050,000 to 108 Canadian soccer players to assist with living, training and tuition expenses in 2013-2014.
