Peoria Couple Claims $1 Million Powerball(R) Second Prize Winning Ticket

Next Powerball Draw Is Wednesday, Sept. 24, for an Estimated $225 Million Jackpot

PHOENIX, AZ--(Marketwired - Sep 22, 2014) -  The Arizona Lottery announces that the $1 million Powerball second prize winning ticket sold in Peoria for the draw on Wednesday, Sept. 17, has been claimed.

A couple from Peoria, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased the winning ticket at the QuikTrip located at 9020 N. 91st Ave. in Peoria. The winning ticket matched five out of five numbers drawn, not including the Powerball.

"It was great meeting the winners and presenting them with their check," said Karen Bach, director of budget, products and communications for the Arizona Lottery. "It's exciting that Powerball is producing more millionaires in Arizona as the jackpot continues to grow."

The next Powerball draw is Wednesday, Sept. 24, for an estimated $225 million jackpot. Tickets can be purchased at any Arizona Lottery retailer.

Players must be 21 years or older to purchase or redeem tickets. Winners have 180 days from the drawing date to claim their prize at an Arizona Lottery office or by mail. Overall odds vary by game.
