RICHMOND HILL, ON--(Marketwired - September 23, 2014) - Compugen Inc. is pleased to announce that it has signed a multi-year contract to supply FortisBC with IT Customer and Infrastructure Services starting January 2015. This contract will see Compugen's Managed Services division take responsibility for all of the IT Operations, ITSM Processes and Tools, including the support of 2,500 employees and contractors involved in the company's natural gas operations in over 65 locations across British Columbia.
In addition to providing an always-available Service Desk, Compugen will operate the end-user environment, datacentre infrastructure, communications and security networks.
"Compugen has shown from similar engagements in this sector that we understand the particular issues and requirements of gas utilities: remote locations, the need to respond quickly and creatively to emerging issues, and highly time-sensitive service," said Terry Mirza, National Director, Focus Accounts, Compugen's prime on this agreement.
According to Compugen's President and CEO Harry Zarek, "The contract with FortisBC represents an important step for Compugen's Managed Services, which has a growing reputation for servicing Canadian utilities. Particularly relevant is our focus on providing flexible response to changing customer requirements within a transparent, shared-management framework."
