Quebec City Gets into Jazz Mode

Government of Canada supports the Festival international de jazz de Quebec

QUÉBEC CITY, QUÉBEC--(Marketwired - Sept. 24, 2014) - Department of Canadian Heritage

The Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages, today announced $125,600 in funding for the 8th Festival international de jazz de Québec, which will take place from October 13 to November 2, 2014, in the capital's downtown core.

This funding, provided by the Government of Canada under the Local Festivals component of the Building Communities Through Arts and Heritage program, will showcase different aspects of jazz music and the people who create it.

  • The lineup of the Festival international de jazz de Québec will include 90 shows featuring more than 250 artists from 10 countries.
  • Other events will include jazz workshops and musical entertainment.
  • The festival, which is expected to receive close to 20,000 visitors, will be supported by around 60 volunteers.
