Senator Larry Smith, on behalf of the Honourable Ed Holder, Minister of State (Science and Technology), will introduce the newest Canada Excellence Research Chair (CERC) as part of an official ceremony at McGill University. The CERC Program attracts talented researchers who are world leaders in their respective scientific fields, strengthening Canada's own leadership in research, post-secondary education, and science and technology development. Before the announcement, Senator Smith will tour a laboratory at the Otto Maass Chemistry Building. Media are invited to join the tour.
