International Spiritual Leader and Humanitarian Brings Message of Non-Violence to St. Louis Today

Local Residents Have a Rare Opportunity to Meet the Peace Ambassador and Gain Profound Insights to Be Truly Happy


SAINT CHARLES, MO--(Marketwired - Oct 22, 2014) - At a time marked by violence and unrest in the community following the Ferguson tragedy, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, a global icon of peace, will visit St Louis today. With the vision of creating of a stress-free and violence-free society, Sri Sri has united millions of people around the world. The Art of Living Foundation, founded by Sri Sri, is a nonprofit that offers stress management and self-development programs which is hosting a unique event for residents to benefit from Sri Sri's teachings. This event, featuring meditation and wisdom, has been created in the spirit of bringing the local community together in unity.

Several hundreds of community members in Missouri have benefited from the Foundation's programs that offer practical tools to manage the mind and emotions and deal with conflict. According to a recent research that calls out St Louis among the "unhappiest" metropolitan areas in the United States, Sri Sri's visit is a key opportunity for residents to be with the Guru of Joy who is spreading happiness around the world. Sri Sri will be a keynote speaker who will answer questions from the audience and speak to the importance of human values, conflict resolution and kindling understanding in a community. Participants will gain insights to attaining personal peace and happiness.

In June 2014, the Foundation imparted leadership training and peace-building initiatives to 35 members of parliament in Kurdistan of war-torn northern Iraq. A champion of social change, Sri Sri has been invited to mediate in areas experiencing trauma and conflict all over the world including Israel/Palestine, Iraq, Cote d'Ivoire, Cameroon, and Kosovo. The foundation has contributed to rebuilding many war-torn areas around the world by providing stress relief and disaster management techniques to the affected people.
