Rainmaker Resources Ltd. Reports Positive Results From Initial Phase Testing at Jayjay, Sask

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwired - Oct. 23, 2014) - Rainmaker Resources Ltd. (TSX VENTURE:RMG) ("Rainmaker") is pleased to announce that it has received analytical results from the initial phase of field testing on the Jayjay and Jayjay East frac sand projects in North Central Saskatchewan.

A total of five composite samples were collected and submitted to Saskatchewan Research Council (SRC) in Saskatoon, SK for sieve analysis, and then to Stim-Labs in Duncan OK for standard ISO/API testing. The samples were collected from surface outcrops. Results show that the sands generally meet industry requirements for use as proppant sand.

Given the encouraging nature of the results, the company now plans to commence developing a more extensive field-testing program, using mechanized equipment to fully test the size and extent of the deposits. This will require permitting from Saskatchewan Ministry of the Environment. It is anticipated that this work program will take place early summer of 2015.

Jayjay and Jayjay East Projects:

The two silica sand projects are located in north-central Saskatchewan, approximately 185 km north-east of Prince Albert SK, and 150 km west of Flin Flon MB. Access is excellent with an all-season Province Road crossing the centre of the property. The Jayjay property consists of one Quarry Permit (QPP 153) (3,624 acres/1470 hectares) and the Jayjay East three Quarry Permits (QPP 154,155 and 156) (1280 acres/518 hectares), issued by the Government of Saskatchewan.

The sand deposit lies at surface and consists entirely of beach sand from the shores of glacial Lake Agassiz. This lake covered much of the central Prairies until approximately 10,000 years before present. Wave action on the beaches has resulted in clean, well-rounded sand grains, which may be suitable for hydraulic fracturing. The sand is derived from a marine quartzose sandstone horizon in the Cretaceous Manville formation.

Previous work has confirmed the presence of this potential high quality sand. At that time, the markets were limited, and the selling prices were much lower than today.
