New Sage Certification Programs Increase Revenue Opportunities and Business Partner Confidence for Sage ERP X3 Developers

IRVINE, CA--(Marketwired - Oct 27, 2014) - Sage North America today announced the new Sage Certified Development Professional Program and Sage Certified Solution Program for Sage ERP X3, offering developers comprehensive certification programs to generate additional revenue opportunities, bolster credibility and provide an enhanced experience for Sage customers. These global Sage ERP X3 programs are launching now in North America with plans to roll out in other global regions in the following months.

"Sage has added these new programs to help developers take advantage of the growing Sage ERP X3 mid-market segment. These programs are designed to enhance customer experience by ensuring the quality of add-on development and integrations to Sage ERP X3 through proper certification. Our customers can have confidence when purchasing, implementing and using third-party add-ons," said Donald Deshaies, VP of Channel Management for Sage North America.

The Sage Certified Development Professional program is designed to simplify a Sage ERP X3 developer's relationship with Sage and provide a path for organizations to submit and certify their add-on solutions that extend Sage ERP X3 functionality. This program is an individual developer designation (not a company designation) that allows individuals to become certified in Sage ERP X3 best practice integration methodologies and carry that certification with them even in the event they change employers.

The Sage Certified Solution program provides a development organization the opportunity to achieve a unique Sage-certified designation for its Sage ERP X3 add-on solution. Along with this designation, the program promotes the solution's awareness and availability to Sage partners and customers. Certified solutions are available for sale through Sage for Sage channel partners and customers, thereby creating potential incremental revenue opportunities for the developer organization.

"It's essential for software vendors to give developers access to resources to meet customer needs," said Ray Boggs, VP of SMB research at IDC. "These new certification programs from Sage help strengthen developer skills and also provide a Sage 'seal of approval' for new applications." Boggs noted that mid-market firms in particular are looking to leverage reliable applications to sharpen their performance -- and competitive positions. "For a growing number of firms, flexibility in payment (perpetual license versus annual subscription) and in delivery (on premises versus cloud) are increasingly important for a new solution to meet a company's needs."

"Sage is committed to long-term relationships with the Sage ERP X3 developer community, and these new programs expand the number of developers building and maintaining add-on integrations to Sage solutions," said Jayne Archbold, CEO for Mid-Market Europe and chairman of the Sage ERP X3 Governance Board. "By joining the Sage Certified Programs, our customers can be assured that developer organizations are maintaining the appropriate skill sets needed to effectively integrate with Sage ERP X3 in terms of installation, reliability and customer support."
