Pyka Lenhardt Schnaider Zell to Offer Free Certification Classes to Out-of-State Insurers

Fair Claims Settlement Practices Regulations Certification Offered by Southern California Law Firm

SANTA ANA, CA--(Marketwired - Oct 27, 2014) - The Santa Ana law offices of Pyka Lenhardt Schnaider Zell (PLSZ), dedicated to quickly and efficiently handling its clients' legal concerns by providing exceptional results for a reasonable cost, today announced it will offer training sessions to out-of-state insurers handling claims within the state of California. The approximately 90-minute training sessions are offered free of cost and are hosted at the insurer's out-of-state offices for groups of 20 or more. The sessions provide not only the training but also the certification required by the California Fair Claims Settlement Practices Regulations.

Designed to promote the prompt, efficient and equitable settlement of claims, the regulations part of the California Code of Regulations, Title 10, Chapter 5, Subchapter 7.5, delineate certain minimum standards and requirements for claims handling and claims settlements.

"Many out-of-state companies who handle cases in California are unaware of the very specific requirements for handling claims that originate here -- putting them at risk for possible penalties and exposing them to bad faith litigation," says A.J. Pyka, managing partner at Pyka Lenhardt Schnaider Zell. "Our firm aims to provide a roadmap to handling claims in California and to educate insurers about requirements for communicating with claimants, documentation of claims files, and other key pieces of information that will protect their organizations from potential bad faith lawsuits."

Covering California requirements for the prompt investigation and processing of claims, the training sessions review everything from requirements for record keeping to disclosure of policy information, and focus on essential information regarding prohibited settlement practices. Also covered in the sessions are standards for specialty coverages and timelines and time limits regarding settlement payments. Upon completion of the course, participants will receive a signed certificate from PLSZ.

Insurance companies with an interest in setting up a training session should contact PLSZ at (714) 835-9011 or contact@plszlaw.com.
