Convictions Under the Fisheries Act


QUEBEC CITY, QUÉBEC--(Marketwired - Oct. 27, 2014) - Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Quebec Region, has released a list of fishers fined in recent months for offences under the Fisheries Act.

The fines imposed on the offenders total $62,050. The offenders are:

Failure to provide logbooks.
rock crab $1,000 + nine-month conditional sentence of imprisonment with several conditions; suspension for the first eight days of the 2015 rock crab fishery; requirement to have a functional black box on vessel for all fishing trips for a period of two years. 2014-09-22
