Entrepreneur Marcus Lemonis Renames Rose's Café and Bakery Eatery in Tribute of Mother's Legacy

Restaurant Will Now Offer an Expanded Menu in Addition to 7 days-a-Week Availability

HIGHLAND PARK, IL--(Marketwired - Oct 28, 2014) - Marcus Lemonis, host of CNBC's reality series, The Profit, and owner of the Evanston and Highland Park gluten-free restaurant chain formerly named Rose's Café & Bakery, has announced the change of the restaurant's name to Sophie's Great Food in honor of his mother, Sophia Lemonis, who passed away in 2013 after an illness. Lemonis saved Rose's from closing its doors during the 2012 holiday season due to financial distress, and sought out to make Rose's profitable while meeting the growing need for products catering to people with dietary restrictions and food allergies.

Sophie's Great Food serves gluten-free cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and has now expanded hours of operation to conveniently serve customers seven days a week. "After an impressive year of growing the business, we are very excited for our restaurant to be renamed Sophie's Great Food," said Lemonis. "We are keeping most of our favorite Rose's items but hope to attract new customers with our extended hours of availability, a new and improved dining menu, a variety of catering offerings and our all-around delicious food."

Sophie's Great Food is the only 100 percent gluten-free bakery and café in the greater Chicagoland area. The restaurant chain serves pizza, soups and sandwiches in addition to providing fresh baked breads, cookies, cakes, cupcakes and muffins. The menu also features a variety of vegetarian and vegan options, and catering is available for parties, graduations and weddings. Recently expanded menu items include a signature Sophie's Burger, Spinach Quiche, French Toast, a Monte Cristo Sandwich, and new chili bowl offerings: Chili Mac, Quinoa Chili and a Vegan Chili.

"When I was growing up, there was no cooking I enjoyed more than my mom's food. While she did not stay with us long enough to see the growth of my restaurant business, I feel like naming the brand after her makes sense because everything she prepared for our family was done with love," commented Lemonis.
