Elemica Wins Green Supply Chain Award for 6th Consecutive Year

Automation of Manual Processes Lowers Energy Usage, Saves Trees and Water, and Lessens Greenhouse Gas Emissions

EXTON, PA--(Marketwired - Nov 10, 2014) - Elemica, the leading Supply Chain Operating Network provider for the process industries, announces winning the 2014 Green Supply Chain Award from Supply & Demand Chain Executive magazine for the 6th consecutive year. Elemica was chosen for its work with a top five global chemical company, where it automates all inbound and outbound invoices processed with the company's business partners. Eliminating paper-driven processes saves trees, lessens greenhouse gas emissions, and lowers water and energy usage.

"Elemica is committed to helping companies implement 'green' best practices," said John Blyzinskyj, CEO of Elemica. "Our Supply Chain Operating Network ecosystem is a highly capable and differentiated platform that enables our clients to drive aggressive sustainability goals and achieve meaningful results. I congratulate the Elemica team for successfully implementing this client project and for winning this prestigious award once again."

"Our readers are implementing sustainable initiatives within their business processes -- and they want to know that other leading companies in supply chain are also with them in the same approach," said Barry Hochfelder, Editor of Supply & Demand Chain Executive. "Our goal is to honor those companies in our annual awards and credit them with the recognition they deserve. Taking that first step -- knowing where to start when initiating a 'green' plan in one's business -- it's not always the easiest thing to do. We honor this year's top recipients for recognizing that there is a need for supply chain sustainability processes and for contributing to this practice with their global, eco-friendly industry actions."

Elemica's winning solution helped improve further supply chain upstream processes, which enhanced the quality of invoice content. The company utilizes Elemica's Electronic Invoicing solution with EU compliant digital signatures to enable paperless invoicing with European clients. The solution was later rolled out on a global scale with all suppliers and logistics partners, eliminating even more on paper usage. The result is over one million invoices now being processed electronically on an annual basis. The solution also saves this information electronically allowing the client to remove paper based archiving and storage.

The 2014 Green Supply Chain Awards recognize companies making green or sustainability a core part of their supply chain strategy, and are working to achieve measurable sustainability goals within their own operations and/or supply chains, in the areas of Sourcing/Procurement, Fulfillment/Logistics, Operations, Product Lifecycle Management, and other areas of the supply chain. The awards also recognize providers of supply chain solutions and services assisting their customers in achieving measurable sustainability goals. Submissions were judged based on the clarity and content of the goals and strategy (30 percent), the extent of the steps being taken (30 percent), the impact of the results to date and projected results (30 percent), and the form and presentation of the information submitted (10 percent).
