Support for Quebec Communities: Waterville Community Centre Receives Funding


QUEBEC CITY, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Nov. 19, 2014) - Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED)

The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Infrastructure, Communities and Intergovernmental Affairs and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, announces that Centre communautaire de Waterville has been granted funding for the renovation of its existing community hall.

This financial assistance has been awarded in the form of a $35,000 non-repayable contribution through CED's Local Investment Initiative (LII).

  • The funding will make it possible to improve the energy efficiency of the Waterville community centre in order to ensure greater user comfort and maintain the viability of this community infrastructure.
  • The LII is a temporary initiative specific to CED that is delivered through the Agency's Quebec Economic Development Program.
  • The initiative helps promote long-term economic capacity-building in Quebec communities by stimulating local investment while seeing to it that citizens have access to safer and more functional community halls that are better suited to their needs.
