PLANO, TX--(Marketwired - Nov 19, 2014) - The Pharmacy Benefit Management Institute (PBMI) announced its CE-accredited suite of online educational classes for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians on Monday, November 17, 2014. This newly developed program of training modules includes 100- and 200-level classes covering topics essential to understanding today's increasingly complex pharmacy management industry.

"For nearly two decades, PBMI has been a valued resource in the pharmacy management industry by providing independent research and education to the industry," said the Executive Director for PBMI, Jane Lutz. "We are very excited to offer the first of its kind online education classes focused specifically on pharmacy management and offering CE credit only increases the value of these classes in the marketplace."

These classes were uniquely designed also to assist HR benefit managers and other industry stakeholders looking for education on the components of pharmacy management. If CE credit is not required, anyone taking the course can choose to take a knowledge assessment quiz and, upon successful completion of the assessment, print out a certificate. The following classes are available:

  • PBM 101: Introduction to Pharmacy Benefit Management
  • PBM 102: Introduction to Specialty Pharmacy Benefit Management
