Renewable energy solutions provider, Canadian Energy, does it again. This time, installing the first DOW POWERHOUSE™ Solar Shingle System in Oakville, Ontario. The innovative 6.4 kWh system was installed by Ralph Gottschalk, a restoration specialist and pro-green enthusiast who owns a Paul Davis Systems franchise location. His home was already equipped with a solar system to heat the pool and had been converted over entirely to LED lighting. Gottschalk's main motivator for installing the Solar Shingle System was to provide clean solar power to charge his Tesla, but a great side benefit was being able to cut down reliance on the hydro company and combat against rising energy prices. The innovative solar roof will create annual savings for the Gottschalks by generating clean energy from the sun while also protecting their home in Oakville, Ontario, better than an ordinary roof.

"I have followed the development of the DOW POWERHOUSE Solar shingles for a few years with the hopes of being the first house in Canada to get them" said Gottschalk. "I've been a fan of solar my whole life but didn't want the traditional style panels on my roof. The DOW shingles offer an exciting way to generate power and maintain the aesthetic appeal of our home. The installation by Canadian Energy went as smoothly as I expected and everybody involved worked closely together to ensure we had a great experience."

This revolutionary integrated solar technology allows for the same labour and costs applied to roofing a home to be used to install POWERHOUSE™ at the same time. Installing the Solar Shingles flush with the rest of the roofing material preserves the integrity of the roof while providing the most aesthetically appealing option in solar.

"Compromise is over," said Craig Ballard, CEO of Canadian Energy, in a special presentation on solar energy at the recent Toronto Green Living Show. "I'm convinced that DOW POWERHOUSE™ Solar Shingles are going to change this world. I think we can look at this - most importantly my wife can look at this - and say, 'Yes I will do that,' because it makes sense and I'm willing to live in that home. It's a game changer."

Canadian Energy is the exclusive authorized distributer of the DOW POWERHOUSE™ Solar Shingles for all Canadian provinces and territories.
