Entrepreneur Marcus Lemonis Announces Campus Town Turnaround Initiative Program

Scholarships Awarded for Higher Education Students' Submissions of Failing Businesses

LINCOLNSHIRE, IL--(Marketwired - Nov 24, 2014) - Marcus Lemonis, entrepreneur and host of CNBC's hit reality series, The Profit, and Chairman and CEO of Camping World and Good Sam, today announced the launch of The Profit Campus Town Turnaround Initiative. It is a nationwide outreach program to colleges, universities and trade schools encouraging students to actively pursue and engage with struggling businesses in their local areas that could benefit from Marcus Lemonis' assistance because they are lacking one or more of the 3 P's of business: People - Process - Product. If the existing company the student proposes is selected, the student has a chance to earn up to a $25,000 scholarship and their school may receive up to a $25,000 donation. Selected companies will also have the potential to be featured on upcoming episodes of The Profit, which focuses on saving small struggling businesses.

"I am on the hunt for new businesses in college towns and communities across America," says Lemonis. "With the Campus Town Turnaround, I'm seeking the brightest, most resourceful and entrepreneurial-minded students to recommend existing struggling businesses in their school and home communities that are ideal for my portfolio, which will also give me the opportunity to mentor students."

The student will be responsible for coordinating the businesses approval for submission, putting together a business plan to save the company and inevitably assist in its turnaround. The student applicant must show exceptional leadership skills, strategic and critical decision-making abilities, organizational skills, and the capability to influence others while instilling methods that can increase revenue and exposure.

"It is obvious that today's students are tomorrow's leaders and business owners," says Lemonis. "The youth of today have inspiring ideas and need the opportunity to have their voice heard. This program allows them to engage with current business owners and strategize on how to become more successful and profitable."

All submissions must include personal information about the student and their current educational institution, in addition to a three-minute YouTube video detailing the struggling business in their college town or hometown, a proposal on how to fix the current concerns and why the business should be considered for investment.

The program is open to all US students working towards an accredited degree (institutional or specialized), certification and/or trade program. To be considered, applications should be completed at www.marcuslemonis.com under a section entitled Campus Town Turnaround. Students are urged to apply as soon as possible as the deadline for application submission is Saturday, January 31, 2015 at 11:59pm.
