New Book, 'How to Avoid Bag Lady Syndrome (B.L.S.),' Spotlights Women's Finances

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - Nov 25, 2014) - Lance Drucker, CEO and president of Drucker Wealth Management, (www.DruckerWealth.com), recently published a new book, "How to Avoid Bag Lady Syndrome (B.L.S.): A Strong Woman's Guide to Financial Peace of Mind."

"The very words 'bag lady syndrome' can be construed as offensive to some women, but every study we've ever seen says the same thing: More than half of all women across all demographics fear ending up broke and homeless," says Drucker, whose firm puts a special emphasis on an underserved issue: women's finances. His website even has a "Her Money" section.

Why are women's finances such an important issue for Drucker and his firm? He lists some of the reasons:

  • Women live longer than men, but earn less.
  • BLS is the biggest financial fear most women share.
  • Ninety percent of women say getting involved with their finances has improved their quality of life.
  • Women want to maintain a good quality of life during retirement.
  • Women want a guaranteed income stream for life.
  • Not enough women understand saving and investment to afford lifelong financial well-being.

"The majority of women will be solely responsible for their financial affairs at some point in their lives," Drucker says. "It's high time our industry focused on understanding their needs and fears and providing education specifically for them."
