Frank Ancona Honda Celebrates #GivingTuesday by Supporting Two Kansas City Charities

OLATHE, KS--(Marketwired - Nov 26, 2014) - Frank Ancona Honda is thrilled to announce its support for two Kansas City charities for #GivingTuesday: Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kansas City and Coats For Kids. The dealership made a financial contribution to Ronald McDonald House and is also providing funding for a mobile fundraiser site. Frank Ancona Honda is also a drop-off location for the fourth year for Coats For Kids.

Jason Heard, general manager of Frank Ancona Honda, said, "We are humbled to be able to support charities that give back so much to the community. Ronald McDonald House and Coats For Kids both provide for families and children in need. Our dealership and employees feel very rewarded to be able to help support the causes of these charities and further help families and children in the Kansas City area who need help the most."

#GivingTuesday is the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. It's a movement started in 2012 by the United Nations Foundation to kick off the giving season after the highly commercialized days of Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Since then, many businesses have partnered with charitable organizations to promote #GivingTuesday and increase awareness for the charities.

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kansas City is currently in the midst of building its third house in the metro area. There are currently two Ronald McDonald House locations in Kansas City providing temporary housing for up to 60 families while their children undergo treatments at one of the city's hospitals. The dealership helped Ronald McDonald House start their campaign with a $2,500 donation and is funding a mobile fundraiser site for Ronald McDonald House through RAZ Mobile.

Frank Ancona Honda is also collecting winter wear for Coats For Kids for the fourth year in a row. The dealership is serving as a drop off location for new or gently worn coats for children who might not have something to keep them warm through the winter. Donations will be accepted for this year's drive through December 5th, but Frank Ancona Honda will serve as a permanent drop off location through the entire year of 2015 in an effort to prepare for next year's winter, too.

Frank Ancona Honda is located at 1000 N. Rogers Road, Olathe, Kan. 66062. Like the dealership on Facebook and follow it on Twitter at @AnconaHonda for great specials on new and pre-owned vehicles, service and parts.
