Statement: Healthcare Worker Ebola Recruitment Campaign Federal Employees

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Nov. 27, 2014) - On November 27, 2014, the Honorable Tony Clement, President of the Treasury Board, made the following statement:

"The Government of Canada launched the "Join the Fight Against Ebola" campaign to encourage the recruitment of Canadian healthcare workers to support efforts at Ebola Treatment Centres in Sierra Leone, Liberia and Guinea.

"As part of this campaign, I encourage qualified federal employees to volunteer with the Canadian Red Cross as nurses, medical doctors, psychosocial support workers, and water, sanitation and infection prevention and control professionals.

"Canada's federal public service employees have a proud history of aiding in humanitarian efforts. I am pleased we are able to assist in these efforts once again. Employees will be providing care for patients and allowing facilities to expand the number of treatment beds available."
