CounterPath Announces Availability of Messaging and Presence Module for its Stretto Platform(TM)

Module enables enterprises and operators to launch secure instant messaging and presence services without replacing their existing IT infrastructure

This server-side add-on is based on the Extensible Messaging and Presence Protocol (XMPP) that is widely used throughout the world and will allow small and medium sized businesses (SMB), enterprises and operators to offer innovative and secure messaging and presence services to their employees and customers.

According to Gartner and the Radicati Group, by 2016 businesses are expected to spend $1.6 billion on Instant Messaging and Presence (IMP) infrastructure while service providers are expected to spend over $2.3 billion on messaging platforms, creating an aggregate market of nearly $4 billion dollars by 2016.
