TAIPEI, TAIWAN--(Marketwired - Dec 15, 2014) - The "Taiwan's MICE Promotion Program" (MEET TAIWAN) project, run by the Bureau of Foreign Trade, Ministry of Economic Affairs, provides 360-degree panoramic images of the interior of several major convention/exhibitions centers in Taiwan through Google Maps' state-of-the-art 360-degree panoramic photography technology. So far, the 360-degree panoramic images inside the five major exhibition/convention centers, such as Taipei World Trade Center Exhibition Center Hall 1, Taipei World Trade Center Nangang Exhibition Hall, Kaohsiung Exhibition Center, Taipei International Convention Center and International Convention Center Kaohsiung, have been created and officially published on Google Maps.

This technology integrates 360-degree panoramic photography technology and web mapping technology, and will enable potential organizers of conventions or exhibitions to survey via the internet the interior layout and overall environment of the exhibition/convention venues as if they did this in person. It is convenient for the organizers if they can survey the exhibition/convention venues online during the preparatory stages. With this advantage, Taiwan will have more international business opportunities. What's more, Taiwan's MICE (Meetings, Incentive Travel, Conferences and Exhibitions) industry will stand out on the global stage for the ability of applying the latest technology in the exhibition/convention centers.

Compared to other international renowned venues, which normally provide only panoramic images shot from several fixed angles, our project is unprecedented and is integrated with Google Street View (provided by Google) so that the users can easily have a picture of the exterior of the venue, the connecting traffic lines and other public facilities. In addition to the function of interior panoramic images, the operation units of the venues are able to upload illustrative photos regarding their services, such as the snapshots of events and activities, the furnishing in conference rooms, the facilities in VIP rooms, to name just a few. The aforementioned service is now accessible for the operation unit of the exhibition/convention venues. In addition, an interactive virtual interior experience zone is set up at the website of "MEET TAIWAN" ( so that the organizers of exhibitions and conventions can use it to their advantage when fighting for opportunities to host events in Taiwan.
