Ingram Micro, Associates and Partners Play Santa to Western New York Residents in Need

Companies Donate Holiday Gifts, Winter Essentials, and Canned Food to Local Nonprofit Organizations

BUFFALO, NY--(Marketwired - Dec 24, 2014) - Ingram Micro Inc. (NYSE: IM) today announced that its ongoing dedication to serving the Buffalo community has resulted in an unprecedented number of holiday donations for thirteen Western New York charitable organizations. Donations were collected throughout December from associates and manufacturer partners. The distribution of goods is as follows:

  • Approximately 600 toys were donated to the following local organizations: Gerard Place, Hearts for the Homeless, South Buffalo Community Table, West Side Community Services, The Belle Center, Bornhava, Haven House, and the Burmese Community Support Center. The toys were donated by Ingram Micro associates and by Lenovo.
  • Fifty in-need children were "adopted" [selected to receive donated gifts] for Christmas as part of Gateway-Longview's Adopt-an-Angel program, which benefits children in the organization's special education, community services, and residential care programs.
  • Twenty-five families were given holiday gifts as part of Hearts for the Homeless' and Buffalo Peace House's adopt-a-family programs.
  • Approximately 200 backpacks filled with winter essentials for the homeless were donated to Hearts for the Homeless and Western New York Veterans Housing Coalition. Items and backpacks were donated in part by Ogio, Timbuk2, and Swiss Gear.
  • Approximately 700 non-perishable food items were donated to local homeless outreach organization Friends of Night People by jCarr, Inc. as part of an Ingram Micro campus event.
  • HP and Cisco each teamed with Ingram Micro sales associates as part of Ingram Micro campus sales events. Combined, the events collected more than 400 warm items such as hats, gloves, and scarves for Hearts for the Homeless, Buffalo Peace House, and Haven House.
  • Approximately 30 students from local School 30 received holiday gifts as part of an Ingram Micro campus caroling event.
