Death of an Inmate at the Federal Training Center-Multi-Level Security Unit

On January 4^th, 2015, Steve Dupuis, an inmate from the minimum security unit at the Federal Training Center was found unresponsive in his cell.

Staff members immediately began performing CPR and emergency services were called. The inmate could not be resuscitated.

At the time of his death, Mr. Steve Dupuis, 38 years old, had been serving an undetermined sentence for second degree murder since April 29^th, 1998.

The inmate's next of kin have been notified of his death.

As in all cases involving the death of an inmate, the police and the coroner have been notified, and Correctional Service Canada will review the circumstances of the incident.
