REGINA, SASKATCHEWAN--(Marketwired - Jan. 6, 2015) - Department of Canadian Heritage

The Government of Canada is providing $15,500 in funding to the Regina International Open Theatre Society (RIOTS) for its 2015 Regina International Fringe Theatre Festival. This funding is provided through the Canada Arts Presentation Fund of the Department of Canadian Heritage.

Ray Boughen, Member of Parliament (Palliser), made this announcement today on behalf of the Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages.

  • About 4,000 people from Regina and southern Saskatchewan are expected to attend the 2015 edition of the Regina International Fringe Theatre Festival, which will take place from July 8 to 12.
  • This annual festival presents innovative and independent fringe theatre performances for audiences of all ages by artists from provincial, national and international touring companies.
  • In addition to presenting more than 100 shows for adult audiences, the festival features a free Kids Fringe with shows for young audiences and a street festival.
