Symphony EYC Introduces G.O.L.D. Allocation

Retailers to Benefit From High Performance Distribution and Allocation for General Merchandise, Household and Other Non-Food Products

PARIS, FRANCE--(Marketwired - Jan 6, 2015) - Symphony EYC, the leading supplier of software and services to retailers, manufacturers and wholesalers, has launched the latest module in its Omni-Channel Fulfillment and Supply Chain Optimization suite. G.O.L.D. Allocation enables retailers to plan and manage the distribution and allocation of products for seasons, collections, promotions and special events (store reformatting, new store openings, sales, clearances, one-off events, and more). Provided as part of Symphony EYC's unified retail platform and based on next generation G.O.L.D. technology, G.O.L.D. Allocation enables high product performance in terms of inventory, availability, sales and reduction of waste.

For general merchandise, household and other non-food products, as well as long lead-time imports, G.O.L.D. Allocation provides centralized planning and management of product assortment and allocation to stores, grouped or typed, over defined periods for defined sales events. Stores are able to review and adjust their commitments for later authorization.

Parameterized metrics and weighting factors, key product and store behavior patterns, such as historical sales can be leveraged in the allocation methods. Multiple re-adjustments can be taken into account to refine the allocations and allow for incidents such as late or shorted supplier deliveries or moving dates, for example. Push, just-in-time, and exceptional (for example, substitution) allocation flows are managed by G.O.L.D. Allocation ensuring the efficient throughput of goods from suppliers to DCs to stores.

As part of Symphony EYC's Omni-Channel Fulfillment and Supply Chain Optimization suite, G.O.L.D. Allocation can be combined with G.O.L.D. Warehouse Replenishment for extended replenishment and supply chain optimization. "G.O.L.D. Allocation provides retailers with the effective and efficient means to manage push retail processes for general merchandise and non-food products without the need to deploy a full-blown merchandise planning solution," said Donal Mac Daid, vice-president, supply chain, Symphony EYC. "In today's retail environment, simplicity, flexibility and productivity are required, and with G.O.L.D. Allocation, we at Symphony EYC are continuing to drive functionality that satisfies our customers."
