Notre-Dame-Auxiliatrice-de-Buckland Community Centre to Undergo Refurbishment

Government of Canada lending support to Quebec communities

NOTRE-DAME-AUXILIATRICE-DE-BUCKLAND, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Jan. 7, 2015) - Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED)

Acting on behalf of the Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Infrastructure, Communities and Intergovernmental Affairs and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, the Honourable Steven Blaney, Member of Parliament for Lévis-Bellechasse and Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness, announces that the Municipality of Notre-Dame-Auxiliatrice-de-Buckland will receive funding for the renovation of its two community halls.

The assistance is being awarded in the form of a $15,945 non-repayable financial contribution through the Local Investment Initiative (LII), a component of CED's Quebec Economic Development Program.

Quick facts

  • The funding will enable the Municipality of Notre-Dame-Auxiliatrice-de-Buckland to paint the lobby and basement of the centre, lay ceramic tile in the stairwell separating the two community halls and install stationary room dividers in one hall and moveable dividers in the other in order to maximize use of available space.

  • The LII, a temporary initiative specific to CED, helps promote economic development capacity-building for the long-term benefit of Quebec communities.

  • This initiative stimulates local investment while ensuring citizens have access to safer and more functional community halls that are better suited to their needs.
