Robert Lentz Brings Unprecedented Federal Security Experience to Palerra

SANTA CLARA, CA--(Marketwired - Jan 13, 2015) - Palerra, the cloud security automation company, announced today the appointment of Robert Lentz to its board of directors, as it bolsters its leadership to extend and support cloud security requirements in the federal space.

Robert Lentz has more than 34 years of industry experience and is presently serving as president and CEO of Cyber Security Strategies. He has been recognized for his security work with the federal government, receiving many government awards such as the prestigious Secretary of Defense Distinguished Civilian Service, the highest-level honorary award the federal department of defense can bestow on a civilian employee.

Prior to Cyber Security Strategies, Lentz was the former deputy assistant secretary of defense for Cyber, Identity and Information Assurance (CIAA) in the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense, Networks and Information Integration/Chief Information Officer. In addition, Lentz previously served as the Chief Information Security Officer for the Department of Defense overseeing the department's $3 billion Information Assurance & Cyber security programs. He started his career with the National Security Agency (NSA) in 1975.

"Recent high profile security breaches and the rapid proliferation of cloud services have made cyber security a top priority for the coming year in both the private and government sectors," said Robert Lentz, CEO of Cyber Security Strategies, and Palerra Board of Directors member. "Unique to the industry is Palerra's ability to automate the security lifecycle from threat detection through incident response for cloud services, enabling federal agencies to scale and keep up with the rapidly changing threat landscape."

"Robert's deep acumen and expertise in cyber-security and information protection has served the offices of governments, defense agencies and critical infrastructure successfully over the last three decades," said Rohit Gupta, president and CEO of Palerra. "We are fortunate to have Robert join us at a decisive moment for innovation in cyber security for our industry and I look forward to his contributions as we scale and support the needs of our customers."

"We are pleased to have such a well known name in the Federal sector join our Board of Directors. Robert has been an integral member of the most powerful team to combat cyber-crime -- the U.S. Federal Government. He brings tremendous experience and tech savvy to Palerra, and his knowledge and direction will greatly benefit our customer base, especially in the federal sector," said Gaurav Garg, managing partner and founder, Wing Ventures.
